Abstract
Giriş/Amaç: Bu çalışma, COVİD-19 yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışan hemşirelerin yetkinliğinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel türde yapılan çalışma Türkiye’nin doğusunda bir ilin eğitim ve araştırma hastanesi COVID-19 yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışan 147 hemşire ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler, Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu ve Yoğun ve Kritik Bakım Hemşireliği Yeterlilik Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır.
Bulgular: Araştırmada hemşirelerin yoğun ve kritik bakım hemşireliği yeterlilik ölçeği toplam puan ortalaması 460.40±57.73 olduğu, alt boyut puan ortalamaları sırasıyla; bilgi 147.70±20.80, beceri 149.38±22.68, tutum ve değer 163.31±18.27 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca hemşirelerin yoğun ve kritik bakım hemşireliği yeterlilik ölçeği toplam puan ortalamasına göre mükemmel yetkinliğe sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir.
Sonuç: COVID-19 yoğun bakım ünitesinde çalışan hemşirelerin mükemmel yetkinliğe sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Hemşirelerde yetkinliğin artması hasta bakım kalitesinin artmasına katkı sağlayabilir.

Abstract
Background/Objective: This study was conducted to determine the competence of nurses working in the COVID-19 intensive care unit.
Material and Method: The descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 147 nurses working in the COVID-19 intensive care unit of a training and research hospital a province in eastern Turkey. Data were collected using the Introductory Information Form and the Intensive and Critical Care Nursing Competence Scale.
Results: In the study, the mean score of the intensive and critical care nursing competence scale of the nurses was 460.40±57.73, and the mean scores of the sub-dimensions were respectively; knowledge 147.70±20.80, skill 149.38±22.68, attitude and value 163.31±18.27. In addition, it was determined that the nurses had excellent competence according to the total score average of the intensive and critical care nursing competence scale.
Conclusions: It has been determined that the nurses working in the COVID-19 intensive care unit have excellent competence. Increasing the competence of nurses can contribute to the increase in the quality of patient care.
